Raising meat animals locally and naturally is not a “just-in-time” production process. Our production starts sometimes two years in advance. Please contact us right away and tell us of your interest so we can put you on our waiting list. You are not obligated to buy; we’ll simply notify you when we have an opening for your order. If you want to be notified the next time we are taking pre-orders, sign up for our email newsletter.

To order fill out the forms at the links below, email anchorranchfarmers@gmail.com or call 503-394-2347 and leave a message. We prefer email. Feel free to email with any questions about ordering. There is no fee for filling out an order form.

We are located in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and we do not ship our products outside the area. We encourage you to find and shop with a local farm near where you live.

The best ways to get meat from our farm are to sign up for our Meat Subscription CSA, or pre-order Bulk Chicken, or Duck, or a Bulk Pork Share, or Bulk Lamb. You can also Buy a Box of meat.

Our Products - Pork, Chicken, Lamb, & Duck

We raise heritage Old Spot pigs on pasture and in the woods, pasture-raised broiler chickens and ducks, and grass fed pasture-raised lamb.

You can get our meat several different ways. We sell bulk pork, chickens, and lamb at a discount. We offer a monthly “meat subscription” CSA share. (“CSA” stands for “Community Supported Agriculture”.) We are also raising two batches of ducks for meat in 2024. We also sell individual cuts of meat from the farm and sometimes at local farmers markets — mostly pork and whole chickens, as our lamb season begins after the summer market season ends. Please note that we always save the best cuts and variety for our CSA members, not for farmers markets.

We use locally-sourced, non-GMO feed and we have our animals slaughtered humanely with reputable local butchers. See here for more information on how we raise meat animals naturally and humanely on pasture.

Meat Subscription CSA

We will add CSA members year-round whenever there is capacity, but to guarantee membership at our June CSA year start, sign up by January 1st.

Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) meat subscription runs for twelve months, June through May each year. The CSA helps us plan out our production ahead of time to provide you with pasture-raised meat throughout the year. Planning ahead helps us save time and money and, in turn, we can provide you meat at a discount to our regular market prices. We rely on the monthly CSA subscription revenues to pay for the day-to-day farm expenses. In turn, we save the best variety of meat cuts for CSA subscribers. Generally speaking, each month includes some forest-raised pork and the shares include more pasture-raised chicken in the spring and fall and more pasture-raised, grass-fed lamb in the winter and spring. Click here for details or to sign up for the monthly CSA.

Pasture-Raised Broiler/Fryer Chickens

We schedule chicken processing dates more than 6 months in advance. Order at any time, but to have the best choice of pickup date, place your order with us by January 1 for the coming summer season. All orders must be picked up at the farm on a designated processing day.

Our pasture-raised chicken season runs from approximately June into October, depending on the weather. We raise chickens in open-air, mobile coops which we move regularly to fresh pasture, and we open the coops every morning to let the chickens forage in addition to providing them non-GMO local feed. This the best and lowest-cost option if you want to fill some freezer space with free-range, pasture-raised chicken. Click here for details or to place an order for chickens.

Free Range Eggs

We keep layer hens for natural pest control; the eggs are just a bonus. While we do sell eggs, doing so is not economical and we are not “in the egg business”. When we have them, CSA subscribers can reserve eggs as an add-on delivery to their monthly subscription and we also sometimes have eggs for sale at the farm and the market. We do not use artificial light to force our chickens to lay more eggs, so egg production does drop off in the winter. Our extremely fresh, unwashed eggs keep a long time in the refrigerator and we have found that uncooked scrambled eggs also freeze very well.

Pasture-Raised Ducks

We are trying out meat ducks in 2024 and plan to raise two batches, one in spring and one in fall. All orders must be picked up at the farm on a designated processing day.

We raise Pekin ducks in the same mobile coops and using the same free range, rotational forage method as for our chickens. These would likely be great for a special occasion. Click here for details or to place an order for duck.

Bulk Pork Shares

Our deliciously fatty, heritage Gloucester Old Spot pigs are born and raised in the woods and blackberry thickets bordering our fields. They forage as much as they want and we also feed them a non-GMO, local feed. If you have the freezer space or are sharing with a friend, the best and lowest-cost way to get pasture-raised pork from us is to reserve a custom-butchered half pig share. You’ll pick up your custom-butchered pork when it’s ready from a local, independent meat processor. We take pig orders year round. Click here for details or to place an order for a pig share.

Lamb Shares

Our grass-fed lambs are born outdoors on the spring pasture; we begin having them processed in the late fall and early winter. How many we have for sale depends on the year, so we will be happy to add you to a waiting list for a lamb share and we will only require a deposit when we know if we can fill your order — normally by June. You’ll pick up your custom-butchered lamb when it’s ready from a local, independent meat processor. Click here for details or to place an order for a lamb share.

Buy a Box

If you aren’t ready to commit to a year-round CSA and you don’t have room for a bulk share, you can order a mixed box of meat, a box of pork cuts, or a box of lamb cuts from us. You’ll need to pick up your box at the farm or from one of our freezer pickup locations if available: we do not ship meat anywhere. We’ll give you a good variety of cuts from whatever we have available just as we would for one of our CSA members, but we will not guarantee the specific contents of the box. Click here for details or to order a box of meats from our farm.

Farmers Markets

While we enjoy meeting you at farmers markets and we like to support our local markets, we lose money at farmers markets even though our market prices are substantially higher than what you get from our CSA or from a bulk order. We are a family farm and we have to spend most of our time caring for the animals, not at markets. We attend a limited number of farmers markets in order to support the local community but ultimately we have to make the decision which is best for the farm. Feel free to offer suggestions and we will keep you posted.

We only sell meat from animals raised on our farm and we only sell directly to individual customers. We do not sell any animals to restaurants or retail stores.
